Currajong
Concrete Contractors Currajong homeowners rely on for sharp, finished work that lifts the look of a home from the kerb. Currajong sits a stone's throw from the Townsville CBD, and the streets here show off a real mix — older Queenslanders with character, post-war cottages, and tidied-up family homes that have been loved on over the years. What ties them together is presentation. Neat driveways, clean concrete paths, well-formed edges around the lawn — these little details are what make a Currajong property look cared for.
That's the kind of concreting we do. Our local crew pours driveways, exposed aggregate paths, slabs and crisp edging for homes right across Currajong, from the Ross River end through to the streets backing onto Pimlico. Honest pricing, a finish you'll be proud of, and concrete that holds up to the North Queensland weather year after year.

Our Services
Concrete driveways are where street appeal really starts. We pour smooth, hard-wearing driveways for Currajong homes — finished with a clean broom texture, exposed aggregate, or coloured concrete to match the front of your home. Built to handle the Townsville heat and the wet season run-off.
Exposed aggregate paths give a Currajong home that finished, tailored look without the upkeep of pavers. We pour pathways from the front gate to the door, side access strips, and pool surrounds — locking in a non-slip surface that holds its colour through the harshest North Queensland summers.
Concrete slabs are the backbone of any extension, shed, or outdoor living build. Whether you're putting in a patio slab, a Colorbond shed pad, or a granny flat foundation in your Currajong backyard, we form, reinforce and pour slabs that sit dead level and stay that way.
Concrete edging is the small detail that pulls a whole yard together. Crisp mowing strips between lawn and garden bed, neat borders along driveways, clean lines around trees — we pour edging that keeps your Currajong garden looking sharp and saves you time on the whipper snipper.
The right concrete mix and finish make all the difference on a Currajong property. North Queensland conditions are tough on outdoor surfaces — long stretches of sun, wet season downpours, and the salty air that drifts in off the coast.
We match the concrete to the job, so your driveway, path or slab holds up for the long haul and looks the part doing it.
Local Crew
Concreting in Currajong isn't about pouring a slab and walking off the job. It's about understanding how your home presents from the street, how the wet season moves water across your block, and what finish suits a post-war cottage versus a renovated Queenslander. Our crew has been working across Townsville suburbs for years, and we know Currajong's streets — from the homes near Mundingburra through to the blocks backing onto Pimlico.
It's the kind of local knowledge you want from a concrete contractor before the first shovel goes in.
Every job comes back to the same idea: make the place look better than when we arrived. That means clean form work, proper reinforcing, the right concrete mix for the conditions, and finishing touches homeowners actually notice. When the neighbours stop to ask who poured your driveway, that's the result we're chasing.

Standard grey concrete is the workhorse — clean, classic, and a smart fit for Currajong homes after a no-fuss finish. We pour it with a smooth broom finish for grip underfoot, which works beautifully on driveways, side paths and shed slabs. It's the most cost-effective option and ages well when poured properly with the right reinforcing.
Exposed aggregate is a favourite around Currajong, and for good reason. The decorative stone surface gives a high-end look that suits everything from updated cottages to fully renovated Queenslanders. It's naturally non-slip, hides marks well, and holds its colour through the North Queensland summers. We offer a range of stone blends — earthy browns, charcoals, river pebble mixes — to complement your home's colour palette.
Coloured concrete lets you tie your driveway or path into the rest of your home's exterior. Charcoal greys, sandstone tones, soft terracottas — the colour goes right through the mix, so it doesn't fade or wear off the surface. A great pick for Currajong homeowners who want something a step above standard grey without going to full decorative finishes.
Stamped concrete mimics the look of pavers, slate or natural stone at a fraction of the price and with none of the weed and movement issues. Stencilled finishes give similar visual appeal — perfect for paths, pool surrounds and entry approaches where you want a bit more character on display from the street.
Underneath every finish is the structural side, and this is where shortcuts cost you down the track. We use steel mesh reinforcement as standard, with bar reinforcement on heavier-load slabs like double driveways and shed pads. Concrete mix strength is matched to the job — typically 25 MPa for residential driveways and slabs, stepped up where the engineer or council calls for it.
Concrete contractors Currajong locals can call without the runaround — that's us. Whether it's a full driveway replacement, a fresh exposed aggregate path through the front yard, or a few metres of edging to tidy up the borders, we'll come out, walk the site with you, and give you an honest quote. No pressure, no hidden costs — just a clear price and a finish you'll be proud of.

Most standard Currajong driveways we pour are wrapped up within two to three days, including the prep, form work and the pour itself. You'll then need to keep off it for about seven days to let the concrete cure properly, and avoid driving on it for around 14 days for full strength. We always plan around the wet season forecast so your pour isn't ruined by an afternoon storm.
Some hairline cracking is normal as concrete cures and moves with the temperature swings we get up here, but proper expansion joints are what stop it from becoming a real problem. On every Currajong job we cut control joints at the right spacing so the slab can move without splitting in the wrong spots. Get the base prep, mix strength and joints right and your driveway will hold up beautifully for decades.
For most residential jobs in Currajong — driveways, paths, edging, shed slabs — you generally don't need council approval, though the driveway crossover onto the verge does require a permit from Townsville City Council. Larger structural slabs for granny flats or extensions will need engineering and council sign-off. We'll let you know upfront what your project needs and help sort the paperwork where required.
Pricing depends on the length, width and the stone blend you choose, but as a rough guide exposed aggregate paths in Currajong sit a fair bit above standard grey concrete because of the materials and finishing work involved. The good news is it's still well below the cost of pavers and the upkeep is far easier. Best way to get a real number is to have us out for a free on-site quote.
Yes, and we do this often on Currajong blocks with established gardens and mature trees out the front. We work carefully around root zones, set proper expansion gaps near trunks, and protect garden beds throughout the pour. The aim is always to leave your yard looking better than we found it, not to flatten what you've spent years growing.
A quick hose down every few weeks knocks back dust, leaf stains and any salt drift, and that's honestly most of the maintenance you'll need. For exposed aggregate and coloured concrete, a sealer every three to five years keeps the colour rich and the surface easy to clean. Avoid harsh chemicals and pressure washing on the highest setting — your Currajong concrete will reward gentle care with years of good looks.
